Yancheng

Yancheng, referring to "Salt City" in Mandarin, is a city with a history of 2,100 years. Situated on the north bank of Yangtze River,  East China.  the city was given the name referring to its sea salt production and salt harvest fields, tracking back to 119 B.C.

Yancheng City is one of  Jiangsu thirteen prefecture-level cities which administers two old municipal districts and seven county-level cities or counties. Yancheng has efficient transport means, including highway/expressway, railway, air and waterway. At present, at least five expressway/highway lines link the city with other major cities in the province, including expressways of Nanjing-Qingjiang-Yancheng, Suzhou-Yancheng, Yancheng-Huai'an, Yancheng-Nantong and coastline. Xinchang Railway (Xunyi (under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou) is a trunk rail line for the city. The Port of Yancheng offers the waterway for cargo and passengers and receives containers from Japan and the South Korea. By Air:  Yancheng Nanyang Airport has opened the flight routes from Yancheng to Beijing, Guangzhou, Wenzhou as well as Seoul Korea and it is the second city which opened the flight routes to international cities in Jiangsu Province. Yancheng Nanyang Airport is only 8.3 kilometers away from the center of the city and passengers may take No.15 city bus to get to the airport. If passengers prefer to take taxi from the airport to the downtown area, it charges about CNY30.

By Train:  Currently, the passenger train routes have already opened for use.

By Bus:  Yan-Tong Highway, Huai-Yan Highway, Lian-Yan Highway, and Ning-Jing-Yan Highway are running through the whole city to provide convenience to passengers. Yancheng Bus Station has already opened the routes from Yancheng to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Tianjin, Qingdao, Jinan, Harbin, Shijiazhuang, Huainan, Chongqing and Nanjing as well as Suzhou and Wuxi.
